HI THERE! I hope you had an awesome summer and did many many things. I'm sorry if you still haven't accepted that it's over...but it is.
If you are curious what I was up to, keep reading!
MY LULLABY OF YOU #MLOY
REWRITES. I spent most of my summer scrambling to get rewrites done for MLOY. I discovered rewrites are the most annoying part about this publishing process so far (stay tuned for what else I run into).
I blame my idiot seventeen year old self that initially wrote this novel for doing a lot of strange plot decisions. In the end though, all of the rework, plot filling, back story writing, and specificity made this piece of work SO MUCH BETTER. I'm not sure what I would have done without my editor!
Said novel is now back in the hands of my editor for copy-editing. Now! I get to focus on the fun stuff like cover design, book formatting, and writing a killer synopsis.
Another thing that happened this summer is the discovery of BOOKSTAGRAM. If y'all don't what that is and you are an avid reader and book lover, click here and here.
Although it was extremely tempting to become a full blown bookstagrammer, there was no possible way to do that AND publish a novel. So instead I decided to participate by coming up with a quick easy review system to use on my TBR list. For now, with my busy schedule, I only average about 2 books a month, but so far it's really fun and I feel cool having my own hashtag ;)
